Get fit with Grove House!
Training in the months before the walk is a great idea to make the evening more enjoyable and will also help to increase your fitness levels.
10 Top training tips
- Aim to start walking more regularly, about 2-3 times per week.
- Start with a distance that is comfortable for you and build this up gradually each week.
- Start walking with a friend or family member as a training partner.
- Warm up and stretch before and after walking.
- Wearing good comfortable trainers is important and will help to prevent injury. Practise walking in these before the event to wear them in.
- Start walking more regularly; to and from work, during your lunch break or whenever possible!
- Drink water regularly when walking to keep hydrated, especially when walking long distances and in summer weather.
- Walk at your own pace.
- Wear your Midnight Walk t-shirt when training if possible to create awareness of the event and Grove House.
- Enjoy yourself!
