- Do mild aerobic & muscular endurance (toning) exercise 2-3 times per week, ideally for 20 minutes or more each session for at least 6 weeks before the event. This will build up your endurance as well as promote an increase in your metabolism!
Try and increase the speed (and/or frequency) in which you do your aerobic exercise each week to stop your body from getting used to the same old routine.
Train with a friend! You are far more likely to achieve your goals if you have a friend with similar targets!
Track your progress with a training programme. A programme should have particular targets included in it so you know when you have reached your goal, e.g. complete 3 workouts each week.
